receipt for your tax records
If you donate online, you will receive a receipt immediately by email. If you send a check via snail mail, we will send you a receipt in January (in plenty of time for tax season).
We also accept gently used horse gear. We will donate it to other organizations, individual rescuers, adopters, or lend it to horse owners in need. For example, a donation of an English saddle, bridle, saddle pad and clothing we received went to the 4-H club near Hardin, MT. One of the youngsters in the horse program wanted to ride English but couldn’t afford to. Amazingly, the clothes fit her and the saddle fit her horse. Once she outgrows them, they will be used by another 4-Her. Win-Win!
We donate winter blankets more than any other item. Blankets help horses cope with our extremely cold Montana weather and conserve calories. It’s rewarding watching a horse try on a blanket for the first time on a bitterly cold day. Within minutes they warm up and relax. They practically smile. We accept donations of clean, gently used blankets of all sizes.
Sorry, we can’t accept: web halters (we have a huge stock of these already which we literally can’t give away or sell), stiff leadropes, dried out leather tack, whips, extreme bits, and spurs. Additionally we don’t accept hay that is older than one year, contains weeds, mold or other foreign objects or has been stored without cover.
